The New 2017 Hyundai Tucson
Having just been totally redesigned, the 2017 Hyundai Tucson is described by Hyundai as having “Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language”. The Tucson certainly does look distinguished from anything else on the road, but the real revolution is happening under the skin. A fuel-efficient turbocharged engine and cutting-edge safety and technology features make the Tucson a real threat to the compact-crossover status quo.
The Standard Edition is equipped with a 2.0L four-cylinder engine with 164 horsepower and 151 pounds-feet of torque, giving you plenty of power for running all around Maple Ridge. You can opt for either front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD), depending on your needs, and you’ll love not having to visit the gas station all the time; the Tucson gets a sweet EPA-estimated fuel economy of 9.0L/100km combined (10.1L/100km city / 7.8L/100km hwy) with FWD and 10.2L/100km combined (11.0L/100km city / 9.1L/100km hwy) with AWD.
There are other options too, like the Eco, Sport, and Limited trims which step things up to a turbocharged 1.6L engine putting out 175 hp and 195 lb-ft or torque. The Eco gives you better fuel economy too at 9.3L/100km combined (9.9L/100km city / 8.5L/100km hwy) with AWD fitted as standard.
The Tucson gets a bunch of modern safety features you’ll really appreciate, including antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, active front-head restraints, front-side airbags, and side-curtain airbags. And traversing Maple Ridge, Surrey, Pitt Meadows, Coquitlam, or Mission is a breeze with the hill-hold assist and hill descent control features to give you a sense of total control as you climb your way throughout BC. A rearview camera is also a standard feature with every trim.
The Sport model gets standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, and the Limited enjoys standard rear-parking sensors and, with the Ultimate package, lane-departure warning and a forward-collision mitigation system with automatic braking and pedestrian detection. The Limited also has the Blue Link telematics suite as a standard feature, with emergency safety assistance and other smartphone-based features via the Blue Link mobile app. New for 2017 is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, ensuring that you’re always connected – even when on the move.

This new Elantra will have higher-strength steel, increasing the vehicle’s rigidity by about 30 percent. What this means for you is that the 2017 Elantra will have a more solid frame to resist any kind of contortion, so you get an even safer ride.
You’ll also get a plethora of supplementary safety and assistance features including Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Keep Assist, and adaptive cruise control, making the 2017 Elantra the safest, smartest model yet. You can also upgrade to HID headlights which turn with you when the vehicle rounds around corners.
The Elantra still features six standard airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, and four-wheel disc brakes with the advanced Anti-Lock Braking system which currently makes the 2016 model such a great choice for families! The Elantra has already set the bar for modern safety, receiving especially high safety ratings; it was chosen as one of the 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 Top Safety Picks by the IIHS. And the 2016 Hyundai Elantra has earned the top, five-star safety rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
