In December 2017 John and Trina Kot wanted to try a different approach to their traditional way of donating around the Christmas season and launched their first “Pay it Forward” Campaign. A campaign that allows for employee involvement. “Pay it Forward” provides $500 to each employee to donate to a cause or charity of their choice! Kot Auto Group believes it is important to support the local community and they want to share as well as inspire their employees to do the same. With Kot Auto Groups dealers all over B.C this means nearly $60,000 donated to various charities that are near and dear to our employees. Some of these causes and charities have been very impactful to the employees and what has truly inspired John and Trina Kot, to continue the campaign for future years.
November 2019 the team at Kot Auto Group came together and wanted to launch a campaign that was based around effort and time rather than a monetary donation. There is simplicity in opening ones wallet to help the community but true value comes from donating your time. From request of the employees, Kot Auto Group launched their first “Kot Coat Drive”. Each dealership collected coats for the entire month of November. Employees ransacked their closets and asked friends and family members for donations. They even had a response from customers who brought coats in when they came in to purchase or have a service done on their vehicles. With all dealerships participating in this campaign they were able to donate 451 coats to the local Salvation Army in year one of this campaign!
